COMMERCIAL LINES ACCOUNT MANAGER (Habitational)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Account Manager supports The Mahoney Group’s Commercial Lines division by servicing and managing commercial accounts in the Real Estate Practice Group with a special emphasis on habitational exposures. This role expands client relationships by analyzing, communicating, and eliminating coverage gaps, ensuring that a client's risk is being managed in an optimal manner.

OBJECTIVES

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, and prospective clients
  • Partner with Advisors to procure, service, and maintain client accounts
  • Collaborate with Advisors to identify and recommend coverage to clients and prospects
  • Coordinate the proposal process for new, renewal, and modified insurance coverage
  • Educate clients on current and proposed coverage and exclusions
  • Answer claims questions and provide support, where needed, throughout the claims process
  • Review and/or process new and renewal policies, endorsements, audits, audit assignments, cancellations, non-renewal notices, and similar documents for accuracy and communicate changes successfully to the carrier
  • Confirm coverage is bound and issue binders
  • Attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required training
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

COMPETENCIES

  • 3+ years of habitational account management
  • Strong understanding of real estate investment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong ability to multitask
  • Thorough understanding of Commercial Lines insurance law, guidelines, and practices
  • Strong computer operating skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and Applied (EPIC) Agency Management System
  • Ability to work and collaborate with people of varying levels across the organization as well as clients and carriers

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5 years of Commercial Property & Casualty experience
  • State Property & Casualty Insurance License
  • 1 years of Applied EPIC experience

PHYISCAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged sitting at a desk working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
